Learn to cook Japanese meals in our fun cooking workshops
Niseko Gourmet's 2016 2017 Fusion Cooking Workshops are presented by Chef Chris Bateman. Chris recently ranked among Australia's top ten chef's in the Australian World Skills Competition and has just completed a stage at David Thompson's restaurant, Nahm in Bangkok, No. 1 restaurant at the S.Pellegrino Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2014 awards.
When Chris creates a dish he chooses one feature ingredient and adds only a few flavours to extenuate the main element so as not to confuse the plate. Chris says he wants the star of the dish to shine and everything else on the plate to make it shine brighter.
Perfect for an activity outside the snow sports arena!
These three hour fun cooking workshops will have you learning to prepare an amazing meal. Held in the Niseko Gourmet studio, seven days a week, Chris will teach you everything you need to know, from preparation and cooking through to plating and arranging - and of course partaking in the results! During the course you will receive recipes, so you can show off your newly developed skills at home.
- Persimmon and Hokkaido scallop
- Kutchan potato gnocchi, blue cheese and mushroom sauce
- Yuzu curd, seasonal fruit, white chocolate and almond crumble
Available seven days a week, from 11am to 2pm. For your convenience the Niseko Gourmet minibus will collect you from your Hirafu Village accommodation, and return you after the completion of the course.
Enrolment is limited to 9 people.
