Come discover the Japanese kitchen and diet with award winning cookbook author and owner of Niseko Gourmet, Tess Stomski.
For the 2018/19 season Tess is offering cooking classes at Mick’s Wine Cellars in Hirafu.
“In the kitchen we will cook a Japanese teishoku menu with a mix of traditional and modern recipes, using everyday ingredients. I’ll talk about what’s necessary to have in your pantry so that on any given weeknight you could pick up a few fresh ingredients and then head home to prepare a simple or impressive Japanese lunch or dinner for family or friends.”
This seasons menu includes:
White Japanese rice steamed with quinoa, black and red rice, cracked wheat
Potato and bacon miso soup or Carrot and tofu soup
Braised pork belly
Stir fried lotus root, carrot and chilli
Sesame soy spinach
Perfect for an activity outside the snow sports arena!
